Last Night I Met You Dreaming

I try to stay still but I can hear the earth turning, spinning. I want it to be quiet. To stop.’

Last Night I Met You Dreaming is a magic realism story about an ambitious journalist who never got over her brother’s death. When mysterious documents are blocked by her editor she is transported to ‘The Region’, a lush green place on the verge of collapse. There she uncovers the truth about a dangerous mining operation, with the help of the spirit world and an extraordinary young woman who opens her eyes and unlocks her heart.

Last Night I Met You Dreaming explores anxiety, deception, capitalism and environmentalism – all wrapped in a dark surreal bundle. This visual show combines movement, music, object manipulation and poetry.

The show was written and developed with support from the Arts Council England, The CLF Art Café, Pexmas Munch Festival and Hackney Showroom. We have been offered a slot as part of First Bites at Ovalhouse Theatre for February 2018 to present the full piece and are currently working on securing funding and developing our public engagement strategy for the production.
